Portland Garden Services is looking for a new crew member.
Position: Garden Crew Member
Location: Portland metro area (various residential sites primarily on the East Side)
Duration: Hiring as early as August through September with the possibility of long term
employment
Hours: Wages: 20-40 hours a week Monday - Friday 9am to 3-5pm
Gardening starts at $20/hr, 90 day probationary period, then raise to $22/hr.
Paid drive time between jobs
Clothing: Must have work boots, rain gear, a sun hat, and water bottle
Portland Garden Services, based in SE Portland, specializes in the care of Japanese Maples,
ornamental trees and shrubs, and fine gardening maintenance. We are not a "mow and blow"
company. Our work is built on long-term trust with our clients and organic, pet-friendly practices.
To prioritize the health of the environment, we work primarily by hand or with all-electric
equipment.
While we lean into permaculture methods whenever possible, we stay flexible to meet each
garden’s needs. We value a growth mindset, creativity, and open collaboration, both with our

This role involves lifting up to 50lbs occasionally and
physical labor across various garden types and project sites. Ideal candidates have experience
in landscaping, fine gardening, or related fields such as habitat restoration or greenhouse
management. New hires will assist with day-to-day operations, including plant installation,
weeding, site cleanup, and loading debris. Secondary tasks include irrigation deliveries, string
trimming, and moving soil or mulch with a two-wheeled cart.
Your own reliable transportation is required, though you may meet us directly at the job site or
carpool from our SE Portland home base. We pride ourselves on being a supportive workplace
